Last Week!

We're finally down to our last week of sessions! With only four days to go we have 18/35 people officially done. I think we will have about 22 in the final draw on Thursday, unless people work through the night just like WalMart.

Literate Locker in the Teen Annex - London Public Library (Central)

I was reading through some blogs through bloglines this morning and found a link to a podcast interview. While I was listening to the interview (the blog was Alternative Teen Spaces) I decided to dig around the blog some more and found a flickr photo stream which led me to this. How cool is that?! I love this idea. We play with magnetic poetry all the time at my house. It's a game and educational at the same time, sneaky huh. Ah well, in my dream YA space there is room for this.

Typos!

I find it amusing that people are still finding typos in the posts, even after so many people have finished the program! I have no excuse since there is spell check.

I know the cover was blue, or purple...

This is brilliant! I can't believe that a library actually added cover colour to the limiters of their catalouge, but it would certainly help sometimes. Take a look.

LetterJames test

Eeek it's December!

So we only have 20 days to get this finished. That's okay, we can do it. I'm going prize shopping tomorrow. I'll let you have a sneak peek at what's up if you remember to look at the blog...

Rollyo link

If it makes you feel any better, I have trouble with accounts and passwords too! I knew I wrote down my information for Rollyo, but I just couldn't get in. Turns out I did a typo in my username. Thank goodness for "email my password" functions on these sites!

Anyway, here is a link to my Rollyo search.

Faking It

Someone asked me if it is possible to put a post further back in the archives. She missed something in the discovery exersises and wanted to go back and put the post in the right date order. The answer is, yes you can do that, but you have to fake the date. When you do a new post there is a small label at the bottom of the box that says Post Options. When you click on it you can change the date and time of the post you are publishing.

Minnie is a dwarf Russian hamster so she will never be any bigger than she is. She is sitting in a 1 cup measuring cup in this picture.

Keeping Up with Changes

This morning I discovered (thanks to Jo Ann) that Bloglines no longer has a Share tab, so the "Optional " part of the discovery exercise where you share your public URL was now "Impossible". I created the training posts in July and already things are out of date! I am constantly amazed and sometimes slightly frightened by how fast technology moves.

I have deleted the offending out of date information so that no one else has the same trouble.

Thanks Jo Ann.

This Week's Training Sessions

As I mentioned in my email, I'll be around for training help this week - Tuesday 12:00 to 1:00, Wednesday 9:00 to 10:00 and Friday 9:00 to 10:00 (morning that is!)

I'll be going prize shopping sometime this week. Watch for photos of prizes coming soon!

Squeezed for Time

I'm hearing that people are really squeezed for time and not being able to work on their 23 Things. I'm open to suggestions about training times, even weekend hours could be a possibility if needed. Next week is a busy week in Adult, but after that we can go back to a couple of sessions a week.

Learning about Learning 2.0

I decided that I really needed to put out my own blog about Learning 2.0. I worked through all the technology while I was putting together the training blogs, but there is still much to learn.

Well, we have had four drop in training sessions so far, with a total of 35 participants. According to the tracking sheet we have 25 staff working on their 23 Things training. I have visited and read every one's blog and I am impressed by how much work has been done. Go team! I think it must be time to go shopping for prizes...
